When entering Meadowood Napa Valley (think undulating roads, beautiful old trees, and the earthy scent of Napa soil), expect a nod to nostalgia. Established in 1979 and the newest addition to the Club’s Hotel Collection, this famous St. Helena resort continually strikes a chord with visitors as it channels an era of subdued sophistication. A tucked-away vacation enclave in the heart of California wine country, Meadowood’s strong sense of place and private luxury cottages allow for natural social distancing. What’s more, Club Members now have additional reason to reconnect with their favorite Napa retreat: new access to The Learning Center at Napa Valley Reserve. So if a road trip or spontaneous weekend jaunt via one of the Club’s aviation partners is tempting, consider Meadowood your upscale escape for the entire family. Here’s what’s not to miss, including a kids’ “camp” for the littles.
Sip & Savor
Discover The Napa Valley Reserve’s Learning Center, where wine education and innovative courses are reason enough to visit. Legendary Winemaker Bill Harlan’s new Learning Center toasts a unique approach to wine education. Unlike a traditional wine school, lessons often take place outside a classroom. They might be hosted poolside in cabanas or at picnic tables looking out across Napa Valley Reserve’s famed vineyards. With the addition of Meadowood Resort to Exclusive Resorts’ Hotel Collection, Members can now experience the forward-thinking curriculum first hand—typically reserved for resort guests or members of Napa Valley Reserve, Harlan’s elite wine club.
Spa Me, Please!
The Meadowood Napa Valley Spa takes its cue from nearby vineyards, offering luxury wellness treatments inspired by the seasons and local terroir. Opt for the 3.5-hour “From the Vines” spa journey, which incorporates both a massage and facial. Vinotherapy uses grape extracts rich in antioxidants and also fights free radicals with resveratrol, which reduces oxidative stress.
Meadowood Napa Valley is the newest partner of the Club’s Hotel Collection, and Members receive preferred rates when booking stays in any of the resort’s award-winning vacation suites.
In addition to a seasonal family dining menu, curious young adventurers can explore the estate on a scavenger hunt, “glamp” via a kid's indoor tent with a s'mores set up, watch in-room family movies, or work up an appetite after playing golf, tennis, or croquet.
Editor’s Note: Meadowood and the surrounding area sustained damage when the 2020 Glass Fire raced through Napa Valley. While reservations may be impacted at the moment, we look forward to brighter days ahead. Club Members looking for more information should contact their Vacation Ambassador.
