The Best Residences for Combining Remote Work and Play

A desk with mountain views and cabanas with WiFi make a few hours at the office feel like vacation.

The Club’s incredibly appointed luxury residences have always been Members' homes-away-from-home. And in a new age of remote work possibilities, we’ve made sure Members have everything they need to seamlessly log on to Zoom with coworkers before shutting down to spend time with family by the pool or on the ski slopes. From high-speed WiFi and private workspaces to business centers and newly-opened co-working spaces, these are some of the Club’s most idyllic and convenient stays for remote work escapes.

METRO

San Francisco

Home to tech giants like Google, Uber and Salesforce, San Francisco buzzes with innovation. Set up your office away from home in one of the Club’s 10 two-bedroom residences in Ghirardelli Square. Your on-site Concierge can help with everything from Zoom calls to FedEx shipments. Each unit features a desk in the living room, as well as a fireplace for chilly Bay Area mornings. Private wine storage and butler service make for easy entertaining.

Chicago

The Club’s six residences in the Trump Chicago put Members in a prime location downtown. Living rooms overlook the Chicago River, Lake Michigan, and Wrigley Field so you can work with a view. A state-of-the-art business center and rentable meeting space for larger groups are conveniently available on site. And with one of Chicago’s top health clubs — boasting a heated indoor swimming pool and studios offering over 40 classes — just an elevator ride away, you’ll actually look forward to a mid-day workout.

New York City

Located in the heart of Manhattan — Midtown East — the Club’s residences at Park Avenue Place are within steps of major businesses, like MetLife and Dow Jones, as well as attractions, such as Broadway and Central Park. The B units are ideal for remote workers, with desks in the living rooms as well as a concierge on call to assist with any business (getting copies made) or recreational needs (scoring last-minute restaurant reservations).

MOUNTAIN

Deer Valley

Montage Deer Valley has over 50,000-square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space and all of the Club’s residences within the resort feature spacious desk areas. Recent WiFi upgrades in the Townhouses at Ironwood ensure all of your Zoom calls will be crystal clear, and units 4 and 5 both have private workspaces in the lower media rooms. Ski-in/ski-out access at both properties makes it easy to sneak in a few runs on the slopes between meetings.

BEACH

Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica

In an age where work can be done from nearly anywhere in the world, why not do it steps from tropical pursuits? Not only do our four-bedroom luxury residences in Costa Rica come complete with plenty of space to spread out, a private infinity pool, and a large terrace, but access to Peninsula Papagayo's recently opened 220m2 Co-Work Space. This office-away-from-home is beautifully designed with different zones to cater to different needs from focus to socialization: hermetic booths for private calls, long tables for group work, lounges for relaxed duties, a platform for conferences, and secluded zones for negotiations. All spaces are integrated and designed with nature in mind to keep you energized and inspired. When the day is done, make your way to The Clubhouse at Prieta Beach for the happiest of hours — cocktail in hand and feet in the sand.

Emerald Coast, Florida

Working from the beach is as easy as making one of the two Southern-style cottages in the idyllic WaterColor neighborhood your base. Both units have a desk in a pass-through hall that converts into a dedicated work area. When office hours are over, you have resort-style amenities — including the exclusive WaterColor Beach Club — steps from your door.

WiFi throughout the unit allows you to take your laptop wherever the view inspires

Virgin Gorda

Island life typically means spotty WiFi, but the brand-new fiber-optic Internet service at Little Dix Bay is not your typical Caribbean connection. Two of the four bedrooms in all six residences have desks, making it easy for everyone to take mini work breaks before reconvening for happy hour — sunset cocktails by the sea.

Sea Island

One of the Club’s most beloved family getaways, The Cloister at Sea Island was designed with multi-generational travel in mind with two-story great rooms and screened-in porches for gathering as well as spaces for quiet and privacy. Both the master and junior masters in all 12 of the four-bedroom residences have desks. Hotel business services are available at the press of a button.

Maui

The time difference in Maui means you’ll rise early to work but be free of incoming emails and calls by early afternoon — ideal for enjoying paradise even while on a work-ation. The residences at Ho’olei Villas at Grand Wailea have a desk in either the living room or the master bedroom. On the west side of the island, units #2406, #2506, #2606, and #2706 at Montage Kapalua Bay have a separate secluded den that can double as a work area. Residences in both locations offer spacious lanai for alfresco work calls with postcard-worthy views.

La Jolla, CA

Located in the charming neighborhood of Playa Grande at La Jolla Shores, the Club’s two modern residences both feature separate workstations across from the kitchen as well as in the junior suite. Both residences are just two blocks from the beach, and without a morning commute, there’s plenty of time to sneak in a pre-work surf session.

Grand Cayman

Working from paradise is seamless when Members stay at the four-bedroom villas located in a private gated community off the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. Send the kids to the resort’s acclaimed Jean-Michel Cousteau Ambassadors of the Environment program to explore and learn about marine life while you work from your residence’s private terrace or living room — or hole up with your laptop in one of the cabanas on Seven Mile Beach. With more than 13,000-square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, the Ritz-Carlton offers a dedicated business center, and with a team of Meeting Services specialists at the ready, it’s like having your own staff on hand.
