The Abaco Club, Reimagined

When The Abaco Club made its 2004 debut, its calling card was the horseshoe-shaped bay and surrounding kaleidoscope of ocean blues. Fast-forward to today, and while the waters of the bay and endless adventure remain top Abaco Club entices, the private club is entering an exciting new development phase. Here's your entrée to the best of The Abaco Club — and if owning prime island real estate tops your 2024 wish list, now is the time to make a move.

New Amenities

While spacious Abaco Club homes have long been Member favorites (the rooftop decks on several homes are divine), the pulse of The Abaco Club is felt at newly expanded gathering spaces, restaurants, impressive water sports, and fitness facilities. Of top note, soon the experiences collection at The Abaco Club will expand — Winding Bay Beach Club will open as the new heartbeat of the community featuring an expansive resort-style pool, hot tub, poolside bar, multi-use cinema room, lounge, and concierge services.

Expanded Dining Scene

If you’ve been to The Abaco Club, then you know how special the main restaurant, The Cliff House, is. Having just completed a remodel, The Cliff House now has a chic new vibe featuring new textiles, artwork, and more. Don’t miss the steak tartare or grilled lobster tail. The view remains timeless, framing endless panoramic vistas of the Atlantic and Winding Bay.

The recently added Tip-Top Sunset Deck, located next to the infinity pool, has become so popular the club has expanded the deck and added a new infinity hot tub so guests can linger even longer. “This part of the club has become a mini destination within the property,” says Kristi Hull, The Abaco Club Director of Sales.

Tingum (Bahamian slang for “anything”) on the beach is a new gathering spot serving casual island fare from the Tingum Food Truck in its new home near the golf course’s fifth hole. A new bar adjacent to Tingum will also make this area a top hangout, where guests can trade tips on favorite adventures (a morning stand-up paddle outing is an unforgettable way to begin the day). And Flipper’s Beach Bar remains a dining standout — known for its laid-back vibe and highly-fueled rum punches, it will quickly become a favorite sunset spot.

What’s more, a new water sports center is drawing beginner and expert kite and foil boarders. Tennis fans get competitive at the existing Abaco Club courts, and as the global pickleball craze gains momentum, new pickleball courts have been built, in addition to half-court basketball, and a wiffleball court. And when it’s time to unwind, The Abaco Club spa features island-inspired therapeutic treatments.

The Green Scene

If a golfer, The Abaco Club’s green scene is reason enough to book a flight, stat. Its 18-hole Scottish-style tropical links golf course is continually ranked the best courses in the Bahamas. A challenging course that has hosted the Great Abaco Classic (a Korn Ferry Event), the Southworth Cup, countless celebrity golfers, and high-profile charity tournaments, it plays along the Atlantic coast and requires welcomed effort. Come 2024, the club will debut an 18-hole putting course adjacent to the existing short-game facility.

Check out The Cays beachfront residences during your next Abaco Club stay — the newest real estate offering is already under construction and will add an additional 20 residences — from penthouse suites to large five-bedroom residences and everything in between. "This neighborhood is our newest beachfront development,” says Hull. The second phase of this project will offer five new buildings. “We’re also building four new homes on the hilltop, in our neighborhood called The Ridge,” Hull adds. So, whether desiring an intimate one-bedroom beachside cottage, or a large home for extended family, The Abaco Club’s real estate component caters to all types of members, with real estate prices ranging from one to 12M.
