JOB SUMMARY: 

Exclusive Resorts seeks a Tax Manager to join the Tax team.  The Tax Manager will assist in maintaining accounting books and records on a tax basis for tax projections.  They will ensure timely and accurate filing of transactional tax, real property tax and personal property tax filings.  In addition, they will manage the audit defense related to transactional taxes, manage the property tax database and appeals processes, and assist other members of the Tax Department in implementing procedures to minimize tax liabilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Review and supervise the monthly sales/use/vat tax filings
  • Assist in compiling information used for computing monthly tax estimates
  • Maintain records for annual personal property renditions, tracking of personal property tax assessments and assist in preparation of monthly tax accruals
  • Maintain records for real property tax assessments, assist in preparation of monthly tax accruals
  • Manage property tax appeals
  • Assist management in researching budget variances
  • Respond to and monitor tax notices and correspondence including responsibility of audit defense
  • Prepare monthly domestic transactional tax filings and compile information necessary to prepare and review foreign transactional tax filings
  • Assist Accounting Department with monthly close process as it relates to tax accounts
  • Assist in maintaining internal resources utilized for summarizing tax law and tax positions taken on a jurisdictional basis
  • Involvement in special projects as requested by Tax Department Management

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must 
  • Ability to research and analyze tax statutes; court cases; and application of tax laws to facts
  • Ability to accomplish multiple time sensitive projects efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work effectively with different groups and personnel within the Company (Management, Operations, Legal, Finance, Accounting, etc.)
  • Ability to self-manage assigned projects and determine & communicate when additional resources may be necessary
  • Ability to handle a high level of responsibility and adhere to deadlines
