Exclusive Resorts Members love the great outdoors, and the Club’s portfolio is packed with new offerings to satisfy their nature cravings in comfort and style. To celebrate Earth Day, we’re highlighting some of our favorite itineraries that take Members deep into the wilderness, from a road trip through some of America’s most iconic national parks to a wildlife safari in Africa.
Climate Education in Antarctica
Exclusive Resorts’ 2022 Once-in-a-Lifetime Journey to Antarctica promises more than epic iceberg sightings. The National Geographic Resolution is staffed with an Expedition Team that includes naturalists and marine biologists who make every excursion more enriching. On glacier hikes to view penguin colonies and kayak tours among whales, experts will share details on how these polar animals survive in such harsh conditions and how climate changes are threatening their habitat.
National Park Appreciation in Utah
Members will gain a whole new appreciation for protected wild places after an eight-day road trip to five national parks in Utah. An action-packed itinerary includes stops in some of America’s most famous parks, including Arches, Canyonlands, Moab, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Be humbled as you hike, climb, rappel and 4x4 through a Martian-like landscape of massive red-rock formations and hidden slot canyons. Half- and full-day guided adventures educate guests to the area’s rich natural history and ensure you see the very best of each park.
Wildlife Encounters in Wyoming
Yellowstone National Park is an icon for a reason. Spanning nearly 3,500 square miles, the park delivers an Africa-worthy wildlife experience. On an eight-day road trip from Yellowstone to Jackson, local naturalists from outfitter Off the Beaten Path will join Members for outings to see bears, elk, bison, eagles and bighorn sheep. Along the way, they’ll discuss the unique hydrothermal properties of the region as well as hot conservation topics such as how the reintroduction of wolves has changed the ecosystem.
Clean Water Initiatives in Kenya
Home to the Big Five, Kenya is Africa’s undisputed wildlife capital. The Club’s 2020 Once-in-a-Lifetime Journey explores Tsavo and Masai Mara, two of the country’s legendary National Parks. Members will spot elephants, giraffes and prides of lions on game drives while also learning about local conservation efforts that help protect the wildlife and support local communities. In the Masai Mara, Members will stay at Sanctuary Olonana, a luxury safari lodge that helps provide clean water to local communities. Members have the opportunity to visit a Maasai village and participate in a demonstration from LifeStraw, a high-volume water purifier. You can feel good knowing Exclusive Resorts makes a donation to the program on each guest’s behalf.
Desert Hikes in California
A four-day hiking adventure in Palm Springs and Joshua Tree reveals the beauty of the Sonoran Desert in Southern California. From spiky Joshua trees to mirage-like palm oases, the landscape is truly one-of-a-kind. Challenging hikes and high-elevation walks are rewarded with photo opportunities of otherworldly rocky outcroppings, dramatic cliffs, cacti of all shapes and sizes, a ponderosa forest and the largest stand of native California fan palms. The desert elements may be extreme, but keep an eye out for resident coyotes, hummingbirds and jackrabbits.
